Это программа о самых известных песнях, их истории, исполнителях, о связи мировых хитов с историей.

"9 жизней" – развлекательная передача, ориентированная на всех слушателей.

Из нее можно узнать малоизвестные факты. Например, что "La bamba", знакомая нам в исполнении Los Lobos, в современном виде была представлена Ритчи Вэйленсом в 1958 году. А изначально это была старинная мексиканская свадебная песня. Или о том, что песня "Crazy" (Хулио Иглесиаса) впервые прозвучала в 1961 году, и спела ее ныне забытая кантри-певица Patsy Cline.

В каждом выпуске речь идет об одной песне.
